Patterson and his team collaborated with architect Chris Brandon to build a home in the Strand at Headlands in Dana Point that made the most of stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. One of its many features includes a back patio accessible via pocket doors that can be opened to foster a seamless engagement between interior and exterior spaces. Patterson and his team raised the stone decking of the patio so that it is flush with the hardwood floors inside. A negative edge, rimflow pool at the same height creates a sweeping expanse that gives out onto the ocean. They installed an Infratech heating system on the covered patio so that clients can enjoy the view during chilly or windy weather. An Infratech heater was also mounted to the master balcony trellis so that homeowners can spend their evenings relaxing in comfort.
