DAVID PASCU, ASSOCIATE PRINCIPAL

Associate principal David Pascu is part of the award-winning team at Abramson Architects. Their work has been recognized with an International Design Gold Award, as well as numerous awards from the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Build and Trends Magazines, and the LA Business Council, to name a few. Abramson Architects specialize in commercial, residential, institutional and retail architecture. Their residential aesthetic combines the openness and clean lines of modern design with materials that add warmth and livability. The team takes its cue from client lifestyles, designing comfortable indoor-outdoor spaces that seamlessly engage with the surrounding environment. They support their indoor-outdoor ethos with practices like selective siting to achieve passive energy efficiency, and by choosing fixtures and materials that offer durability and a timeless aesthetic.

GLENHAVEN RESIDENCE

Pascu and his team developed a design for this Pacific Palisades home that maximizes sweeping views of city lights and the ocean. It features an open plan kitchen, dining and living room with a series of sliding glass doors that open up to the outdoors. Pascu created a comfortable transitional space by adding an outdoor living room sheltered by a deep overhang. This offers shade during the day and protection from wind and fog at night and in colder months. He chose flush-mounted Infratech heaters for the space because they add visual appeal and feature durable construction and eco-friendly, low-maintenance operation. In addition, Infratech’s infrared technology transfers heat directly to objects and will not blow away in drafty conditions, enabling the homeowners to spend more time outdoors, enjoying the view in comfort.

Pascu and the Abramson team strive for designs that are attuned to the geography and location of each site. They incorporate features and amenities that extend indoor comfort into outdoor spaces in unique ways that complement the lifestyles of their clients.
