Outdoor Design Spotlight: Timberline Patio Covers

Timberline Patio Covers are outdoor living experts, having been in the business since the early ‘90s. Originally founded as specialists in Undercover Systems, an under deck drainage product, the company has spent the past decades learning about outdoor spaces, discovering innovative outdoor living products and refining their design approach. In 2016, Timberline Patio Covers launched a division specifically dedicated to building outdoor kitchens, roof structures, decks, fireplaces, fire pits, and other exciting features.

Timberline have used Infratech heaters in many of their outdoor design projects in Newcastle, Woodinville, Snoqualmie, and Sammamish, WA. We sat down with the team to discuss outdoor living trends in the Pacific Northwest, the unique challenges of designing outdoor spaces for the climate, and how eco-friendly Infratech heaters fit into their stunning designs.

What are some outdoor trends that you’re seeing for winter 2018/19?

In the Pacific Northwest in the last ten years, there has been a push for outdoor spaces that are weather-worthy year round. People want to get out and enjoy this beautiful place that we live in. The benefits that come with building a patio cover are that you can enjoy not only the outdoors but also have additional space for entertaining or relaxing with the family. The addition of electric heaters into the covers is really what help create a space that is warm and habitable year round.

How do you design outdoor spaces to accommodate for seasonal transitions?

We design spaces that are built to handle any weather. We like to add in all the electronic heaters you would need to keep it warm and toasty during winter, and fan and screens to keep you cool in the summer.

Why does your firm choose to include Infratech heaters in your outdoor designs?

We chose Infratech because they produce a reliable, well built heater that can withstand the elements and puts out an outstanding amount of heat. They really make it possible to enjoy the winters outside.

What inspires you when creating a custom outdoor space for clients?

We let the customers do the inspiring. We just want to give them some basic ideas and let them run with it. We are here to build what the customer has been dreaming about. If you can dream it, we can build it!
