Infratech Heaters Warm Sunset Magazine’s 2014 Idea House

This summer, Sunset magazine opened “the ultimate modern beach home,” a 4,500 square foot, four bedroom and 5 1/2 bathroom residence complete with drought-tolerant landscaping, “a no-mow lawn,” edible garden, swimming pool, and outdoor kitchen and living room. Sunset’s editors partnered with architects Tomaro Design Group, builders Mike Davis Custom Homes, and landscape designers Masterpeace Gardens to create the magazine’s first Los Angeles-area Idea House, which showcases sustainable building and architectural and design innovations.

The Manhattan Beach home was designed to seamlessly blend the casual outdoor/indoor appeal of beach living. With a large outdoor living space, Infratech heaters were a natural choice. Mike Davis Custom Homes installed two bracket-mounted, powder-coated black heaters and two flush mounted heaters with the frame powder coated black in a dark brown wood T&G ceiling. The subtle design and customizable color of the heaters means they blend harmoniously into the home, without ever having to sacrifice comfort or functionality. All four heaters are WD-6024 SS and controlled by a 4 Relay Home Management Panel integrated into a Lutron smart home system.
