When restauranteur Sean Meenan teamed up with liquor producer and nightlife impresario Rande Gerber to bring his classic Nolita eatery Cafe Habana from the East Coast to the West, the duo decided to create a relaxed, beach-like atmosphere to complement the new restaurant’s Malibu location. Cafe Habana Malibu’s interior design nods to the dark, wood-paneled gentlemen’s clubs of the past, classic Cuban architecture, and California flora and fauna. To take advantage of the seaside city’s comfortable weather and ocean breezes, the cafe features a sunny patio sheltered by a wooden pergola, complete with a bold mural by graphic designer and street artist Shepard Fairey.
Once the sun sets, however, those ocean breezes can get a bit chilly. With Meenan’s focus on eco-friendly practices, it made sense for the design team to choose energy-efficient Infratech heaters to keep the patio cozy. Our wall-mounted black W-series heaters provide evenly-distributed heat that doesn’t “blow away” or produce a harsh glare. With their subtle design, they also blend seamlessly into the distinctive, classic design of this gorgeous outdoor dining space.
